With over fifteen years of professional experience in the work of global well being, Dr. Crystal Jones serves this planet as a powerful anchor into deep presence. She uses sound therapy, vocal toning, breath work and powerful inquiry as tools to draw people closer to the gift of the present moment. Most sacred to her is her private practice, The Sanctuary. In the corporate arena contracts as a presence coach and meditation/breathwork lead. You may also catch across multiple platforms and conferences invoking presence through intentional sound, silence and meditation.

What's your current theme song? If you have a reason, please share.
Optimistic - Sounds of Blackness

What is the Sanctuary
The Sanctuary serves to ignite powerful and intentional clarity through the gift of presence. Always centered in this work are Black and brown queer folks of color.

Tell me about your journey to now. What impactful moments led you to your work?
My journey is, like all others', is a continual unfolding. While I've been in the healthcare and wellness industry for quite some time, I turned my focused to well being. While being a doctor in practice was rewarding, I kept feeling the call to really support the root work of well being. Countless certifications and licenses really helped me understand so many different languages of being with the body and creating brave space for emergence. That's all that I really wanted to do was be with people during their unfolding. I saw how the power dynamics shifted when I was the "expert" doing healing with them. I greatly value the many pathways to the silence. Silence speaks volumes. So I've committed my life's work to that. It has been quite the journey and this little box couldn't hold it all. Happy to share more.

Who and/or what motivates your passion each day?
The saying "there is a seed inside of you that knows what to do". I really believe that this is why I am here on the planet. I wake up everyday to bring that to remembrance. I get to see The Divine more with every interaction.

How do you define Radical Self Care?
Great Question. Sitting with what desires to emerge. Allowing myself to be held while doing that. That looks many different ways.

What rituals do you have to help maintain homeostasis of mind, body, and spirit?
Silence in the morning. Opening the door to commune with nature. THC infused honey with tea. Meditation. Noting my commitments for the day. Breathing them in. Then being with others. I close the day in the opposite way, ending with silence.

How do you incorporate plants into your well being routine? How is the cannabis (THC, CBD, CBN, etc) a part of your plant ritual?
Outside of my morning/evening routine. THC is invited to draw in presence when the body craves deep presence and awareness - generally, this is when I find myself moving to fast to control the future. When centering for other folks and holding the space, I generally use CBD.

Who would you like to experience an altered state (dream elevation + discussion) with and how would you achieve this flow state?
Great question. What keeps coming through is the Universe. I want to have some deep answer but that's it. I generally do this by doing breathwork while smoking.

Love the phrase "slow down to speed up", what does that mean to you personally and within the present global pause?
I really love the nervous system and so my answer is really slowing down the firing of impulses in the fight or flight pattern to be present enough to move forward with clear intention. With every step being focused and intentional the actual speed of heart and soul work is faster. I think this is evident in the current climate.

What is the gift you bring to community?
Easy. Deep presence and powerful inquiry.

What has been the most challenging for you during this time?
Physical Touch is by far my first love language - I've had to move through layers of remembering ways to hold myself.
