What is Wellness Official
Wellness Official is an online and IRL community working to democratize wellness.
Tell me about your journey to now. What impactful moments led you to your work?
Ohhhhh sooo many, I have been very clear of my path since I was very young. Moving every year or so as a kid was very impactful to the woman I am and the work that I do. Living in NY and becoming my dream -working at VIBE, winning Project Runway and starting my first business are some major moments (but there are many more during my 9+ years there). Having my first baby (business) and then watching it get burned to the ground when I brought in business partners in year 5 was a MAJOR painful event- that also was one of my most transformational turning points.
Who and/or what motivates your passion each day?
How do you define Radical Self Care?
Doing what is truly right and true for you.
What rituals do you have to help maintain homeostasis of mind, body, and spirit?
Baths, running, working with my teachers and healers every week, meditation and spending time with my man at dinner with no phone, no news and no distractions.
How do you incorporate plants into your well being routine? How is the cannabis (THC, CBD, CBN, etc) a part of your plant ritual?
I’m so grateful to have edibles THC with CBN to help me to sleep at this time! I take it about 20 mins before I sleep.
Who would you like to experience an altered state (dream elevation + discussion) with and how would you achieve this flow state?
I like to speak with and channel leaders and historical figures that have passed on. I do this with journaling and meditation. Right now, Princess Diana and Cleopatra.
Love the phrase "slow down to speed up", what does that mean to you personally and within the present global pause?
I believe this is always a good idea. WE do not need a pandemic to get this point- alas here we are.
What is the gift you bring to community?
I bring the idea, resources and community to help people heal themselves, together.
What has been the most challenging for you during this time?
Allowing my joy and well being to flourish no matter what.
What made you become an advocate in the space and for the plant?
Watching generations of Black criminalized by the state and law enforcement.
